MUROPLAS

HISTORY

MUROPLÁS was born in 1989 and was the first step towards ACHIEVING THE vision of its two founding partners.

Since its establishment, the industrial facilities are located in the northern region of Portugal, in the city of Trofa. Dedicated to the manufacture of products and technical components with engineering polymers, technologically processed, by injection and bi-injection.

In the year 1990 Muroplas decided to invest in the development of new internal skills and began the activities of design and production of molds for the plastic injection process.

In 1997, due to the company’s perceived needs, Muroplás moved its facilities to a new location, where it remains today, significantly increasing the area allocated to its activity, as well as guaranteeing the foreseeable needs for the expansion of production facilities. With this change of facilities, and the increases made in 2002 and 2015, it now has an available area of around 4500m2 for the development of its activity.

In the year 2000, another important step for Muroplas was made, reflecting its concerns for the continuous improvement and quality of its activity, with the implementation of the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Certification.

As a result of the evolution of the activity and corresponding to market requirements, in particular to the medical and hospital sector, in 2004 the first ISO Class 7 clean room was installed. This clean room was expanded in 2015 to the configuration that it assumes today.

This evolution in its manufacturing capabilities allowed, in 2011, the release of the catalog for medical devices. This step established Muroplás as an important international supplier in this highly specific and technically demanding area.

Today, we have evolved a lot from the first day in 1989 and we remain committed to our vision: To be a global reference in successful partnerships related to the development of solutions in plastics engineering.
